Netzwerk Tap - Topologie
Zwischen zwei Netzwerkgeräten installiert, bietet ein Netzwerk Tap permanenten, aber dennoch passiven Zugriff direkt in den jeweiligen Netzwerkverkehr. Wird ein Überwachungstool benötigt muss das Gerät lediglich mit dem Netzwerk Tap verbunden werden anstatt den Link zu unterbrechen, Kabel umzustecken und den gesamten Netzwerkverkehr zu beeinflussen.

Selbst wenn es zu einer Stromunterbrechung des Netzwerk Taps kommt, verhält er sich absolut passiv und sichert durch seine Fail-Open Technologie die gewünschte Netzwerkverkehrskontinuität. Taps duplizieren den kompletten Verkehr, inklusive Layer 1 & 2 Fehler, ohne dadurch Engpässe oder Fehlerpunkte zu generieren.

Unabhängig davon wo das Netzwerk oder das Netzwerkgerät überwacht werden soll, bieten Net Optics Netzwerk Taps eine passende Lösung. Kupfer, Multimode und Singlemode Fiber werden unterstützt, mit Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 100Gbps. Ebenfalls verfügbar sind Media Conversion Modelle um die unterschiedlichsten Schnittstellentypen zu unterstützen.

Flex Tap MTP™ is the newest Tap in the Net Optics arsenal, and it comes with a spectrum of market-topping features. For one, it can support up to 12 MTP Taps in a 1U space second, it’s the first Tap in the industry to support multimode 40G up to 480Gbps of throughput.

Space and Cost Savings
With space at a premium in the data center the need for a compact and easily scalable Tap that fits into a smaller footprint is even greater. The Flex Tap MTP is designed to fit up to 12 Taps in a 1U panel with simplified rack mount ability, and with the MTP adapters facing forward for maximum cost and space savings. The rack mount and modular Tap design provide the ability to mix-and-match the Flex Tap MTP Taps with the Flex Tap LC speeds of 1G, 10G, 40G and 100G within a single deployment for even greater flexibility.

Non-Intrusive Threat Protection
Flex Tap MTP’s all-optical design is optimized for high-performance fiber networks. The Tap is 100 percent passive and easily removable. When placed on network links, it requires no power and maintains permanent access ports without introducing a point of failure or disrupting other network connections. The absence of an IP address provides isolation from the network and eliminates the Tap´s exposure to attacks.

Total Monitoring Visibility
Monitoring devices connected to the Flex Tap MTP have total visibility—seeing all full duplex traffic as if it were in-line, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 errors. Flex Tap MTP delivers simplified full-duplex monitoring 24/7 with custom monitoring cables that send each side of the monitor link to a separate NIC on the monitoring tool. The Flex Tap MTP even makes it possible to utilize 10G tools by ´splitting out´ the MTP connections into 8 simplex LC connections, while allowing network connections to run at 40 Gbps.

Da Platz im Rechenzentrum wertvoll ist, war der Bedarf an kompakten und leicht skalierbaren Taps nie grösser. Das Flex Tap wurde so designed, dass es bis zu 24 Taps innerhalb einer Rack-Höheneinheit (1HE) aufnehmen und schnell installiert werden kann. Seine LC-Adapter sind zudem auf der Gerätevorderseite angebracht was zusätzlich zu einer maximalen Kosten- und Platzersparniss beiträgt. Non-Intrusive Threat Protection
Das durchgängig optische Design des Flex Taps ist optimiert für High-Performance Fiber-Netzwerke, es ist zu 100% passiv und dank Plug-and-Play flexibel einsetzbar. Wird es innerhalb einer Netzwerkverbindung platziert braucht es keinerlei Stromversorgung und bietet permanente Zugriffs-Ports ohne eine potentielle Fehlerquelle einzubringen oder andere Netzwerkverbindungen negativ zu beeinflussen oder zu unterbrechen. Da es auch keine IP-Adresse benötigt ist es für das übrige Netzwerk unsichtbar und bietet somit keinerlei Angriffsfläche.

Monitoring-Tools die an das Flex Tap angeschlossen sind erhalten eine vollständige Sicht auf das Netzwerk. Sie sehen den gesamten Vollduplex-Netzwerkverkehr so als würden sie sich in-line befinden, inklusive Layer 1 und Layer 2 Fehler. Das Flex Tap ermöglicht unkompliziertes 24x7 Voll-Duplex Monitoring durch den Einsatz eines speziellen Y-Analysekabels das jede Seite der zu überwachenden Verbindung an eine separate Netzwerkkarte des Monitoring-Tools sendet.

Zero Delay - A Net Optics Breakthrough
Placing the Gig Zero Delay Tap in highly sensitive network locations can improve monitoring performance via the innovative features of Net Optics Taps. If power is lost to other 10/100/1000 Taps, the connected devices can introduce delays as they detect the power loss and try to re-establish their link.

The Zero Delay engineering breakthrough ensures that any loss of power to the Tap is transparent to the network, and does not affect the flow of traffic through the Tap - eliminating packet delay and packet loss as potential security or performance issues.

Transparent Access
Gig Zero Delay Taps establish permanent passive access ports without introducing a point of failure or disturbing other network connections. The Taps either auto-negotiate communication or fixed speed and duplexing parameters as determined by DIP switch settings. These passive Taps deliver full-duplex monitoring with zero impact on network traffic around the clock.

Security and Visibility
Without an IP address, monitoring devices are isolated from the network, dramatically reducing their exposure to attacks. The monitoring device connected to the Tap sees all full-duplex traffic as if it were in-line, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 errors.

Simply Plug It In
Full-duplex monitoring is a snap when each side of the signal is sent to a separate NIC on the monitoring device. All network and monitoring cables necessary for plug-and-play deployment are included with the Tap.

Reliability
For extra uptime protection, Net Optics Gig Zero Delay Taps offer redundant power connections. Should the primary power source fail, the Tap automatically switches to the backup power source. Power LEDs on the front of the Tap indicate the current power source.

Requiring no power, the 10 GibaBit LC Fiber Taps maintain permanent access ports for monitoring tools, without introducing a point of failure or interfering with network connections. The passive nature of the 10 GigaBit Tap delivers full-duplex monitoring with 100 percent network traffic visibility, including layer 1 and 2 errors. The optical split ratio can be selected to match the monitoring requirements of your network.

Simply Plug It In
Depending on your network environment, network and monitoring cable kits may be necessary for deployment. Net Optics’ Cable Kits give you all the cables you need to deploy a Net Optics LC Fiber Tap in an LC- or SC- connected environment. Custom monitoring cables are used to send each side of the network link to a separate NIC on the monitoring tool for full-duplex monitoring.

Security and Visibility
Because the Tap does not require an IP address, both the Tap and attached monitoring tools are isolated from the network, dramatically reducing their exposure to attacks. Net Optics’ Cable Kits give you all the cables you need to deploy a Net Optics LC Fiber Tap in an LC- or SC- connected environment. Custom monitoring cables are used to send each side of the network link to a separate NIC on the monitoring tool for full-duplex monitoring.
